Public Education

The Bath Township Fire Department is deeply committed to educating and protecting our community—because prevention starts long before an emergency ever occurs. Our personnel take an active role in public education throughout the year, sharing life-saving knowledge with residents of all ages.

From training local business employees on proper fire extinguisher use, to teaching children when and how to dial 9-1-1, public education is a core part of our mission. Each year during Fire Prevention Week, our firefighters visit Bath Local Schools and other community groups to share practical fire safety tips, promote fire prevention, and give students a behind-the-scenes look at the important work we do for our township.

Beyond fire safety, our department is heavily involved in traffic safety education. Our programs include seatbelt awareness, motorcycle helmet education, and distracted driving prevention. Every other year, we partner with Bath High School’s Interact Club to conduct a powerful “Mock Crash” demonstration—an impactful, real-world presentation designed to show students the serious consequences of unsafe driving choices.

Through education, engagement, and outreach, the Bath Township Fire Department is proud to help build a safer, more informed community.
