Meet Fire Chief Craig E. Vogel

Craig E. Vogel was appointed Fire Chief of the Bath Township Fire Department on September 1, 2026. He brings more than 14 years of fire and emergency medical services experience, including leadership positions at the firefighter, Lieutenant, and Captain levels.

Throughout his career, Chief Vogel has focused on leadership development, firefighter education, operational readiness, and organizational improvement. In addition to his operational experience, he has served as a Fire and EMS instructor and an NFPA 1403 Live Fire Instructor at Four County Career Center, helping prepare both new and experienced emergency responders.

Chief Vogel earned his Bachelor of Science in Fire Administration and Investigation from Columbia Southern University, graduating Summa Cum Laude . He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Executive Leadership in Public Administration and is a participant in the National Fire Academy’s prestigious Executive Fire Officer Program.

His professional qualifications include Fire Officer I–IV, Fire Safety Inspector, Incident Safety Officer, Fire and Life Safety Educator, Juvenile Firesetter Interventionist, and Nationally Registered Paramedic.

Chief Vogel’s leadership philosophy centers on servant leadership, professional development, and building strong organizational cultures. He believes that effective leadership begins with investing in people, establishing clear expectations, and providing employees with the tools and opportunities necessary to succeed.

Outside of the fire service, Chief Vogel enjoys spending time with his family, coaching youth sports, reading, and pursuing his passion for the outdoors, and music.
