Fire Damages Bath Township Garage Monday Evening
 

The Bath Township Fire Department responded to 1212 N. McCullough St. after receiving a 911 call for a garage fire at 6:40 P.M. on May 29, 2023. Firefighters arrived to find smoke and flames showing from the rear of a detached garage. The fire was extinguished quickly with the majority of the damage to the outside of the structure.

The residence is owned by Jean Johnson, of Ada and occupied by Rodney Purcell, who was home at the time of the fire. According to the owner, the property is insured.

Fire officials estimate the damage to be approximately $8,000 to the building. An additional $1,400 in contents was damaged.

The fire doesn’t appear to be suspicious, however no exact cause has been determined and the fire remains under investigation.

There were no injuries to the residents or to firefighters.
